More about
The Big Apple Bluegrass Society (BABS):
We are a dedicated association of pickers and friends who seek to promote the growth of bluegrass and related traditional music in New York City and its neighboring villages. We meet informally in open jam sessions at clubs, private homes, or "anyplace that'll have us." We have implicit standards of jam etiquette and social decorum; these are unwritten, but we still convey them to one another as we make them up. We have no formal session policy except to pick and grin. We seek to "raise the bar" of bluegrass jamming as we listen to and learn from one another in a spirit of camaraderie.
Membership fee: $1
